KRUGER NATIONAL PARK – NIGHT SAFARIS

Experience the special thrill of a night safari in the world-famous Kruger National Park.  Be driven in an open vehicle and explore the African night with a powerful spotlight to expose the nocturnal predators and other animals which are active at night.  

Night Safaris are arranged by the Kruger National Park and leave from Paul Kruger Gate, Phabeni Gate and Numbi Gate at approximately 4.30 pm.  The departure time varies from winter to summer.  

Some night safaris include a boma braai dinner and the price will vary greatly if a dinner is provided..  This service available only at certain times of the year.   If no dinner is provided, the safari will take about 3 hours and you will need to provide your own refreshments and snacks on the vehicle.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARIS – OPEN  VEHICLE

A local Safari Wheels operator will collect you from Chestnut Country Lodge and take you on a specialist tour to the Kruger National Park in a specially adapted 4 x 4 open Safari Vehicle which has radio contact with other vehicles.  Your qualified FGASA guide will share his knowledge of the bush and game with you.  
Mineral water available throughout the day.   Chestnut Country Lodge will prepare you a delicious picnic breakfast basket.   Lunch for your own account at one of the camp’s restaurants. 

Dawn/Morning Safaris, Afternoon Safaris and Full-Day Safaris can be arranged for you.

 

KRUGER  NATIONAL PARK – WALKING SAFARIS

Walking safaris can be arranged with the Kruger National Park with a National Parks trails ranger ready to introduce you to a number of skills including tracking, the use of plants and trees in medicine as well as bird and animal identification.   These rangers are amongst the most qualified and experienced people in Southern Africa and have a wealth of knowledge and experience.  

Walks are conducted in the wilderness areas of the Kruger National Park, in particular, an area that is renowned for its rhino population, so a big 5 sigthing is always a possibility!    A short game drive to and from the walking area adds to the excitement of the day. 

Walkers should wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sun-block and good sunglasses.   Please take along your own water and light refreshments.
