FACILITIES
Our facilities include a large crystal clear swimming pool surrounded by a stunning wooden deck overlooking fabulous views, which gives you the feeling of sitting among the trees - an ideal spot to grab the binoculars and birdwatch, or sip quietly on a refreshing cocktail!
There are a number of birds who feed and nest among the Kiaat, Lowveld Chestnuts, Wild Fig and Mobola Plum trees to name but a few of the many indigenous trees on the property. A resident brown-hooded kingfisher is a delight to watch as he bathes in the garden birdbath and keep an eye out for the colourful Purple-crested Turaco.
The cosy bar and lounge are also comfortable places to relax at the end of a day for a sundowner or drinks before dinner and to discuss the excitement of the day's activities. Our 3-course table d’hôte dinners are prepared using only the freshest of herbs, vegetables in season (both freshly cultivated on the property) and quality meats, fish and poultry for our discerning guests. The lodge is renowned for its delectable cuisine.
Chestnut Country Lodge also offers a superb Continental Buffet Breakfast as well as a full English Breakfast each morning.
Picnic lunches can also be prepared and packed for you on request, as you spend the day exploring our incredible area.
